Many salt water aquarists are fascinated by the symbiotic relationship between clownfish and anemones. Did you know that clownfish will not host with just any anemone? They will only bond with certain anemones, so it’s important to choose the right pair for your tank.
Bubble Tip Anemone (Rose Anemone) – Entacmaea quadricolor
Clownfish that are compatible with the rose anemone:
A. akindynos – Barrier Reef Clownfish
A. clarkii – Clark’s Clownfish
A. frenatus – Tomato Clownfish
A. melanopus – Red and Black Clownfish
A. ocellaris – Ocellaris Clownfish
A. percula – Percula Clownfish in Bubble Tip Anemone
Premnas Biaculeatus – Maroon Clownfish
Long Tentacle Anemone – Macrodactyla doreensis’
Clownfish that are compatible with the long tentacle anemone:
A. clarkii – Clark’s Clownfish
A. perideraion – Pink Skunk Clownfish
A. polymnus – Saddleback Clownfish
Premnas Biaculeatus – Maroon Clownfish
Pizza Carpet Anemone – Cryptodendrum adhaesivum
