Boesemani rainbow – (Melanotaenia boesemani)
A peaceful tropical fish that can be found in Indonesian waters. The boesemani rainbow had a diet of small crustaceans, insects, and some vegetation in the wild. They are well known for their beautiful blue and orange coloration. These fish are sexually dimorphic so it is easy to determine male from female. The male rainbowfish is more colorful and has a slightly taller body shape. Though the Boesemani rainbows prefer a slightly higher pH, they are hardy enough to go in almost any community fish tank. These fish are excellent schooling fish and do better in larger groups. These awesome fish can grow to 4.5 inches and look even better with age. They are quite the staple fish in the aquarium hobby.
